Lillian Koon

GILBERT – Funeral services for Lillian Bouknight Koon, 94, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 4, 2012 at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Leesville with interment to follow in the church cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be Terry Craps, Stan Koon, Steve Koon, Randy Koon, Mitchell Koon, Andy Bedenbaugh, Matt Bedenbaugh and Tommy Brock. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Saints Alive. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, February 3, 2012 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Memorials may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 210 Bethlehem Circle, Leesville, SC 29070. Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.

Mrs. Koon was born March 4, 1917 in Gilbert, SC and passed away on Tuesday, January 31, 2012. She was a daughter of the late Andrew C. Bouknight and Beulah Smith Bouknight. Mrs. Koon was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Lillian’s life was her family, her church, and her enjoyment of gardening. She enjoyed travelling with her family and friends during her later years.

Mrs. Koon is survived by her daughter, Zelma (Lee) Craps of Gilbert; Myrtle (Jim) Jaco of Cayce and Marilyn (David) Bedenbaugh of Leesville; sons, Harold Koon of Gilbert and Labon (Judy) Koon of Ladson and sister, Doris Whetstone (Levon). She was predeceased by her husband, Ansel Cleburn Koon; daughter-in-law, Betty Koon; sisters, Thoreau Smith, Carrie Lee Smith, Louise Smith; brothers, Leo D. Bouknight, James M. Bouknight, Monroe Jacob and Jim Bouknight.
