

WEST COLUMBIA – Funeral services for Linda Clark Applewhite, 73, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 25, 2012 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel with a private burial. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, May 24, 2012 at the funeral home. Active Pallbearers will be Zach Applewhite, Justin Dillon, Jeremy Applewhite, George Huizinga, Jr. Jimmy Dillon, Jr. and Tad Coleman. Honorary Pallbearers will be Robert Smith, Gerrit Huizinga, Griffin Huizinga and Hudson Strickland. Memorials may be made to St. Judes, 6300 Bee Cave Road, Bldg. 2, Suite 100, Austin, TX 78746.
Mrs. Applewhite was born August 15, 1938 in Thomasville, GA and passed away on Tuesday, May 22, 2012. She was a daughter of the late Ralph Clark and Valla Griffin Clark. She was the owner of Apple Blossom Florist and Formal Wear. She enjoyed sewing, pageants and traveling. Upon retirement, she enjoyed spending time with her husband at their mountain home in Canton, NC. Her proudest accomplishment was her family. Spending time with her five children; nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren was her greatest joy.
Mrs. Applewhite is survived by her husband, Raymond Applewhite; children, Tina Applewhite Dillon (Jimmy, Jr.), Cheryl Applewhite Huizinga (George Jr.), Michael Raymond Applewhite (Connie), Ricky Lee Applewhite (Sharon) and Walter David Applewhite; grandchildren, Tish Dillon Strickland, Justin Dillon (Amber), Zach Applewhite (Alicia Moody) Brittany Applewhite, Jeremy Applewhite (Heather), Jessie Amick Shealy (Chad), Holyn Huizinga, Gerrit Huizinga, Griffin Huizinga; great-grandchildren, Alana Shealy, Allie Shealy, Kassady Strickland, Hudson Strickland; sister, Jerrie Clark and numerous loving nieces and nephews.
