LEXINGTON – Funeral services for Louise Mathias “Bootsie” Amick, 92, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church with interment in the church cemetery. The service will be conducted by Pastor Pat Riddle. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the church parlor. Active Pallbearers will be Tommy Mathias, George Mathias, Alon Cox, Bob Looney, Norman Boyd, Eric Russell and Richard Owen. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church Building Fund, 119 North Church Street, Lexington, SC 29072. Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
Mrs. Amick was born January 12, 1920 in Lexington, SC and passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2012. She was a daughter of the late A. J. Mathias, Sr. and Miley Taylor Mathias. Mrs. Amick was a member of St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church. She was former owner of Amick Apartments and a comtomotor operator with Standard Oil/Exxon.
Mrs. Amick is survived by her son, R. W. McCormick (Tonya) of Lexington; granddaughter, Kelli Allen (Albert) of Columbia; grandson, Rev. Michael R. McCormick (Darlene) of Anderson, SC; step grandson, Jason K. Waters (Leslie) of Lexington; step granddaughter, Leslee Fortanbary (John) of Irmo; great-grandchildren, Brooks Allen, Kendall Allen, Whitney Allen, Sidney Allen, Elizabeth McCormick, Katelyn McCormick and Sarah McCormick; step great-grandchildren, Emily Waters, Jackson Fortanbary and numerous nieces and nephews; sister, Helen Vickers of Lexington and brother-in-law, Mayo Harmon of Lexington. She was predeceased by her parents; husbands, Leland O. Amick and Ralph W. McCormick, Sr.; brothers, A. J. Mathias, Jr. and Laborde Mathias; sisters, Alice Mae “Sal” Elkins and Elizabeth “Libby” Harmon.
