Lucille Hite

LEXINGTON – Funeral services for Lucille Betty Shumpert Hite, 77, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, September 9, 2012 at St. David Lutheran Church with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, September 8, 2012 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Active Pallbearers will be Thomas Shipman, Jr., Alan Jeffcoat, Jimmy Shipman, Mike Hite, Ronnie Ricard, Hal Hite, Charles Dooley and Steve Roland. Honorary Pallbearers will be all nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to St. David Lutheran Church, Building Fund or Cemetery Fund, 132 St. Davids Church Road, West Columbia, SC 29170.

Mrs. Hite was born July 25, 1935 in Red Bank SC and passed away on Thursday, September 6, 2012. She was a daughter of the late Alonzo Shumpert and Emma Hall Shumpert. Mrs. Hite was a loving selfless wife, mother, granny and friend to all that knew her. She will be sorely missed by family and friends. She was an excellent cook.

Mrs. Hite is survived by her husband of 55 years, Wilbur J. Hite of Lexington; sons, Mark G. Hite, Stan Hite, Terry Hite, Russell Velasco all of Lexington; grandchildren, Travis, Jared, Karlynn and Brianna Hite and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brother, George H. Shumpert; sisters, Carolyn S. Jeffcoat and Sara S. Shipman.
