

LEXINGTON – Services for Lucy Eileen McGill, 67, will be held on Tuesday, September 11, 2012, at 11:00 am at Lexington Baptist Church with burial in Lexington Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10:00 until 11:00 am prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be made to the Lexington Baptist Church Building Fund, 308 East Main Street, Lexington, SC 29072. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Prospector Men’s Sunday School Class and the New Hope Sunday School Class. Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, is assisting with arrangements.
Mrs. McGill passed away on Saturday, September 8, 2012. Born in Porterdale, Georgia and raised in Covington, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late James E. and Annette Worsham Loyd.
Mrs. McGill was a member of Lexington Baptist Church, where she was active in the New Hope Sunday School Class. She graduated from Newton County High School and had 28 years of service with Lexington High School in the Guidance Department. Mrs. McGill was an avid reader and loved to garden and loved her family.
Surviving are her husband, William McGill of Lexington; daughters, Deborah Burns of Columbia and Andrea (Steven) Drutis of Lexington; 4 grandchildren, Devin, Lindsay, Nickolas, and Noah; a sister, Audrey Smith of Temple, Georgia; a sister-in-law, Patsy Dunn of Fayetteville, Georgia and many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to extend special thanks to Dr. Hutchison and Tammy Cooper, RN and the South Carolina Oncology Association.
