CHAPIN – Memorial services for Lynn C. Cashion, 63, will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 9, 2014 at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. Ms. Cashion was born on January 9, 1951 in Baltimore, MD and passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 7, 2014. She was a daughter of the late Conrad Lynn Cashion and Wanda Lee Bowman Cashion.
Ms. Cashion was a member of the St. Peter’s Lutheran Church. In 1988, Lynn became disabled from a motor vehicle accident. She was active for many years in the SC Spinal Cord Injury Association. Although disabled, she loved life and never let her wheelchair slow her down. She enjoyed the simplest things in life such as her weekly visits to Chick-Fil-A and trips to the mall each Friday to meet with her “mall friends.” She even ventured into a scrapbooking business and a cattery business where she bred and showed Persian cats. She loved her boyfriend of 20 years and her family and was always excited and thankful for the smallest things in life.
Surviving are boyfriend, Dean Owens of Prosperity; daughter, Missy Riddle (Joe) of Chapin; son, Woody Cannon (Jessica) of Chapin; four sisters, Jean Hooker, Nancy Cannon (James) of Chapin, Betty Bell (Frank) of Charleston and Barbara Bishop (Jason) of Newberry; brother, Luke Cashion of Chapin; grandchildren, Tripp, Kaleb and Zachary Riddle and Emmett Cannon of Chapin; honorary daughter, Shannon Dale; numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. She was predeceased by her father and two nieces.
Memorials may be made to the Health Care Ministry at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church at 900 Dreher Island Road, Chapin, SC 29086.
A special thanks goes the staff at Springfield Place in Newberry, SC. She truly was very happy there and was cared for with much love.
