Magalene H. Kyzer, 83, of Lexington passed away on March 13, 2024. Mag was the daughter of the late Malichi and Sallie Lou Harmon of Lexington. She was one of 11 siblings. She was the wife of the late Windford “Wimp” Kyzer. They were married on July 13, 1956.
Mag worked in and outside the home. She worked at Lexington Sportswear, then Monroe Calculators, and eventually opened her own licensed in-home day care. She was a lover of people, especially children. Many a family member and other children crossed her doors.
She loved her yard and enjoyed keeping it up as long as she could. Beautiful azaleas bloom now that it is close to spring. Another of her favorite pastimes was riding with Wimp on their Harley.
She was a loving mother, sister, grandmother, and friend. We will miss her dearly.
Surviving are her children: Russell Kyzer (Bonnie), Connie Smith (Ray), Shirley Hoover (Steve), and Ben Kyzer (Will Branch); six grandchildren: Jason Mathias (Summer), Casey Sharpe, Addison Kyzer, Zachary Hoover (Sarah), Nicole Croft (Chris), and Caroline Preusser (Jonathan); five great-grandchildren, and two more on the way; sisters, Ina Mae Kyzer, Caffie Strickland, Linda Sharpe, and Pam Brand; and brother, Robert Harmon.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Wimp; daughter, Margie Ann Kyzer; sisters, Lou Ellen Frye, Faye Kyzer, and Annie Ruth Greene; and brothers, Laurie and Johnnie Ray Harmon.
Visitation will be held for Mag from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM on Monday, March 18, 2024, at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home – Lexington Chapel, 503 North Lake Drive, Lexington, SC 29072. A funeral service will follow at 12:00 PM, with burial to take place after the service at Lexington Memorial Cemetery, 1772-1782 W. Main Street, Lexington, SC 29072.
Pallbearers will be Jason Mathias, Casey Sharpe, Addison Kyzer, Zachary Hoover, Chris Croft, and Jonathan Preusser.
The family would like to thank Prisma Health Richland and Agape Care Hospice House in Lexington for their excellent care and compassion.
