Marie graduated from Chapin High School. Her career began at Southern Bell and then at the Bruner Publishing Company for more than 20 years. She was a beloved Cub Scout Den Mother and a Brownie leader. She was a lifelong Lutheran and a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church.
Marie was married to the late William T. “Bud” Shealy for 55 years. She is survived by her Children, Tom Shealy (Langley) and Rhonda Richardson (Boies), her grandchildren Ben Shealy, Olivia Wingard (Jamie), and Spencer Durant (Thomas) and Elijah Burch and her great grandsons Walker Monts Wingard and Graham Rush Wingard, along with many beloved nieces and nephews.
She is predeceased by her Husband, and siblings, Mildred Slice, Myrtle Williams, Thomas Monts and Jenny Koon.
Marie especially enjoyed fishing and watching college sports along with word puzzles.
Pallbearers will be nephews: Bob Williams, Andy Koon, Scott Koon Chris Koon, Ben Shealy, Jason Comalander.
Visitation will be Wednesday, October 28 from 5:00-7:00 PM, at Caughman Harman Funeral Home in Lexington. The funeral services will be held at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 1500 Sunset Blvd. West Columbia, on Thursday, October 29, 2026, at 11:00 AM., followed by burial at Southland Memorial Gardens in West Columbia.
