

WHITE ROCK – Marilyn Elizabeth Shealy, 53, passed away Wednesday, May 18, 2011. Funeral services will be Saturday, May 21, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Horeb Lutheran Church with interment in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:30 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday, May 20, 2011 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Chapin Chapel
Miss Shealy was a daughter of Myrtis T. Shealy of Chapin and the late C. Esthern Shealy. She was known for her music, which led her to lifelong involvement in that art. She received a degree in music from the University of South Carolina and taught piano in Chapin for several years. She also played the piano and organ at many Chapin area churches, including Mt. Horeb Lutheran Church, where she was also a member and sang in the adult choir. Miss Shealy was retired from the SC. Department of Transportation. She was an avid and devoted Gamecock fan.
Surviving in addition to her mother are two brothers, Gerald L. Shealy and Stanley E. Shealy, both of Chapin; a sister, Sherryl Livingston of Suwanee, GA; three nieces, two nephews; and five great nephews and two great nieces. She was predeceased by a brother, Colen B. Shealy and two nieces Susan Shealy Morelli and Allison Elizabeth Shealy.
