Marion graduated from Lexington High School, Class of 1987. Throughout his life, he carried forward a steady determination and a considerate spirit—qualities that shaped the way he worked, the way he showed up for others, and the way he made people feel in his presence.
A master electrician and owner of his own Electrical Company, Marion built his livelihood through skill, persistence, and pride in a job done well. He also worked for AT&T building cell towers. His enterprising nature extended into other ventures, including a small bird house business, Birds on a budget, and the ownership and operation of Manerville Bar in West Columbia. In each pursuit, he was known for his willingness to work hard, his practical ingenuity, and a generosity that was felt by those around him.
Marion embraced life with a sense of adventure and an easy joy. He enjoyed deep sea fishing, cruising, and time spent at Harrah’s Casino. He especially valued the simple, meaningful pleasures of being with his children, friends, and family—grilling, entertaining, and creating moments that brought people together. He also enjoyed going to the casino with his son and watching his daughter’s martial arts fights, taking genuine pride in the lives and interests of those he loved.
He is survived by his wife, Charlotte Martin Maner; son, Chandler Maner (Casey); daughter, Charlsey Maner (James); grandchildren, Stetson and Maren Maner; sister, Anna Marie Woods (Marty); brother, Gary Maner (Pattie); and brother, Wayne Maner; as well as numerous Aunts, Uncles, Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.
He was predeceased by his parents, Mary Roof Maner and Marion Henry Maner III “Sonny”; granddaughter, Everleigh Maner; and beloved dog, D.O.G.
Marion will be remembered with respect and gratitude—for his steadfast work ethic, his thoughtful and kind-hearted ways, his open-handed generosity, and the fun-loving spirit that brought warmth and laughter to the people fortunate enough to know him.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, May 16, 2026 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home - Lexington Chapel, 503 North Lake Drive, Lexington, SC 29072. Visitation will follow the service.
