LEESVILLE - The Reverend Marion Ernest Ringer, 85, passed away Friday, March 1, 2019. He was born April 19, 1933 in Newberry, SC. In January 2019, he celebrated 65 years of marriage with his wife, Kay Medlock Ringer. He is survived by his wife; son, Michael E. Ringer (Pamela); daughter, Kathryn “Denise” Pyles (Michael); grandchildren, Erin M. Ringer, Michael S. Pyles, Emily K. Pyles; and sister, Elizabeth “Betty” Sawyer. He was preceded in death by his brother, David Ringer.
He served our country in the United States Navy during the Korean War. After his military service, he served the Lord as an ordained Southern Baptist minister for 59 years with various churches in North Carolina and South Carolina. That service included two mission trips to the Philippines.
Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, March 4, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Leesville, 264 Main Street. Burial will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 5, 2019 in Rosemont Cemetery, Newberry, SC.
