Mark attended West Georgia College where he graduated with a degree in Biology/Physics. He was a 1983 graduate of University of Georgia College of Pharmacy. He married Laura McEntire Langford on March 5, 1983. He was employed with Sonic Drive In, Irons Group, Columbia, SC as an area supervisor from 1997 to 2009, and as Director of Operations from 2009 to 2020.
Mark was an avid reader of all things non-fiction, extremely quick witted and a great debater. He was the obligatory “phone a friend” for anyone who found themselves in the “Cash Cab”. Mark was ambitious, articulate and generous. He enjoyed motorcycles and loved going to Bike Week in Daytona, a tradition he started with his dad and shared with his children. He and Laura were devoted Georgia Bulldog fans and were football season ticket holders since 1980. Most of all, Mark’s identity was found in being a provider to his wife and children, whom he loved more than all else. Mark’s sense of humor and infectious laugh will be missed by those who knew him.
Mr. Langford is survived by his wife, Laura and daughter, Stephanie Mathias (Andrew). He was predeceased by his son, Jonathan Langford.
A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 16, 2021 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Due to Covid restrictions, masks are required.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations in his memory be made to South Carolina Junior Golf Foundation at SCJGF, PO Box 286, Irmo, SC 29063.
