Pelion - Funeral services for Martha Janelle Martin, 66, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, December 28, 2015, at New Hope Baptist Church with interment in the church cemetery. The Rev. Steve Young and the Rev. Johnny Slice will conduct the services. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Monday prior to the service at the church.
Janelle was born April 22, 1949 in Lexington and passed away on Wednesday, December 23, 2015. She was a daughter of the late Carl R. Mathias and Martha Dooley Mathias.
Surviving are her husband, Robert G. Martin, Sr.; daughter, Pam Rhodes (Steven) of Claxton, GA; son, Robbie Martin (Joyce Ann) of Pelion; grandchildren, Steven II, Dillon, Channing, Jennifer, Robin and Kerri; great-grandchildren, Amber, Colten and Jacob Ryder; sisters, Linda Leaphart and Kay M. Bennett. She was predeceased by her 2 brothers and 4 sisters. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210.
