Mary W. Brantley

Mary W. Brantley, lovingly referred to as “Granny” by many that knew and loved her, of West Columbia, SC passed away peacefully March 14, 2023. She was born on November 9, 1927 in Newberry, SC to Roscoe Calvin “R.C.” Wilson and Louise Cromer Wilson.
She is survived by her daughter, Sally B. Estes; sister, Rita W. Yarbrough; daughters-in-law, Brenda Bedenbaugh and Tracy Bedenbaugh; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Wilson and a son-in-law, Clark H. Rowe, Jr. She was predeceased her husband, W.L Brantley; three of her children, Charles Calvin Bedenbaugh, Mary B. Rowe, and John Patrick Bedenbaugh; her brother, Keith C. Wilson; brother-in-law, M. C. Yarbrough and a great granddaughter, Wylder Chastain. She had 10 grandchildren: Calvin Turnage (Tina), Christy Turnage, Aaron Turnage (Tawny), Mitchell Bedenbaugh (Jada), Michele Lindner (Ryan), Colt Bedenbaugh (Brielle), Jessie Faircloth (Chris), Jami Wells (Ryan), Jodi Yenny (Jason), and Kelli Chastain (Caleb); 23 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter.
Granny loved the Lord, her family, friends, and dog Willow wholeheartedly. She was a passionate baker by trade. Family and friends would often flock to her kitchen to enjoy a slice of German chocolate or carrot cake and sweet conversation about the old days, leaving full and encouraged. She was deeply loved and will forever be imprinted on the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.
A memorial service is scheduled for 5:00 pm on March 27 at Center Pointe Community Church, 6119 Platt Springs Road, Lexington, SC. Chaplain Maurice Webbers will officiate. If desired, memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, as this was a charity Granny loved to support.
