Dottie, Peggy and Family,
I am so sorry to learn of Sue's passing. She was a sweet sweet lady. I have so many childhood memories growing up in Denny Terrace. All were rooted in our many years at Denny Terrace Baptist Church. I wouldn't take anything for all those wonderful memories. God gave us such a strong foundation from Denny Terrace Baptist Church on which to build and live our lives by. Then when we moved to Dutch Fork Baptist Church what a blessing to discover that Sue and Pee Wee were there as well. I loved both of them so much! Can't wait to see them both when God calls me home. It is so comforting to know that they are now together in Heaven. My heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with you as you go thru this heartbreaking time. May God wrap His loving, comforting arms around you in the coming weeks and months.

In Christian Love, Vivian Ermey

It was an honor to help take care of Ms. Sue. We made many great memories in our short time together. I’ll always remember and miss our “Wild Fridays”. We would go for a ride and get a treat, like ice cream or a milkshake. When we walked down the hall, holding hands, we would sing the hymn “I Feel Like Traveling On”. She had a kind heart and always put other’s feelings before her own. Ms. Sue expressed gratitude for every thing that was done for her, no matter how big or small. I have been blessed to know and grow close to this loving family. Ms. Sue is deeply missed.

My Mom was Aunt Sue's sister, Valerie Pierce, and because my Mom, Aunt Sue, Aunt Margie and Aunt Freda were so close, 13 cousins grew up spending a lot of time together! All the family were loving and close. When my family moved to Baton Rouge and New Orleans, we would come back every summer and visit everyone. My earliest memories of staying in the bus at the river and learning to swim and ski under the watchful eye of Uncle Buddy are so precious. Those fish frys with the daily catch were amazing. Aunt Sue always treated me like I was so special and Dottie and I were like sisters going on many childhood "adventures". Time and distance has kept us separated, but Aunt Sue and all the family will always have a special place in my heart. I am grateful for the opportunity to join the service live online and take my place with the family to say goodbye to a very precious, godly lady! Much love and prayers!

I fondly recall Mr. and Mrs Gates on the front porch of the river house. Pee Wee on guitar. They sang, " Put Another Log on the Fire". They're singing together now!
