

Mary Jane LeFevre, 83, of Columbia, South Carolina, passed away on June 22, 2026. While her family and friends mourn the loss of her physical presence, they celebrate a life filled with compassion, service, laughter, and love.
Born in Sumter, South Carolina, she was the daughter of Douglas and Ethel Ferrell. She grew up in Darlington alongside her siblings, Rachel, Robert (Bob), Billie Jeanne, and Miriam. She graduated from St. John's High School before pursuing her nursing education at the Columbia Hospital School of Nursing.
Mary Jane dedicated her career to caring for others as a registered nurse. She served patients in the office of Dr. Albert Cramer and later at Lexington Family Practice in Irmo.
She shared many happy years with her husband, Charles LeFevre. Together they enjoyed traveling and opening their hearts and home to many beloved pets. Her love for animals remained a constant throughout her life and inspired her dedicated volunteer service with PETSinc.
She is survived by her daughter, Leah Estridge Belcher, and son-in-law, Chris Belcher, of Richmond, Virginia; grandchildren Samantha and Matthew; siblings Robert (Bob) and Billie Jeanne; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles; and her sisters, Rachel and Miriam.
A Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 26, 2026, at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home - Lexington Chapel, 503 North Lake Drive, Lexington, SC 29072. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to PETSinc. in honor of Mary Jane's lifelong love and dedication to animals.
