James Island – A visitation for Matthew Rice Stillinger, 30, of James Island will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. A Celebration of Life Service will be held June 3, 2016 at 6:00 p.m. at the Folly Beach Lighthouse. Memorials may be made to the Surfrider Foundation, Charleston Chapter, surfrider.org, Lake Murray Sailing Club, Children’s Chapter or Pawmetto Life Line.
Matthew was born December 14, 1985 in Greenville, SC and passed away Sunday, May 8, 2016.
He is survived by; mother, Angela Stillinger of Belton; father, Matt Stillinger of Lexington; brother, Will Stillinger of Lexington; aunt, Sandra Estes Reynolds of Belton; paternal grandmother, Carmen Stillinger of Orangeburg; maternal grandmother, Sara Estes of Belton; his son, Riley Gunter and friend Morgan Gunter. He is predeceased by his paternal grandfathers, Earl Matthew Stillinger and Stokes Rice Estes.
