Melinda was born on September 28, 1963, and passed away on Tuesday, September 7, 2021. Melinda was predeceased by her parents, Doris and Millard Quattlebaum. She is survived by one sister, Vicki Quattlebaum (James), her Aunt Ann, and multiple cousins.
Melinda loved life. Basically, if you knew Melinda, you knew that her love, presence and spirit could remind you to love and appreciate your own. She loved everyone and was a comfort to those in need. Melinda loved to dance, especially when Elvis was on the radio. She could also do a mean electric slide and knew all of the songs from “Grease” by heart. Melinda was an avid NASCAR fan, and was thrilled when the end of the race brought her favorite part: the “Burnouts”.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to everyone at Babcock Center (Carriage House) for their care and love for Melinda. Not only have they cared for her for over a decade, they have become part of our family in the process. Their love and dedication are greatly appreciated, and our Melinda’s life was certainly enhanced by having them in it. Also, a special thanks to everyone with Amedisys Hospice for all of their time and attention extended to Melinda.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to service. The service may also be viewed LiveStream on St. David’s Facebook page. Memorials may be made to the Babcock Center Foundation at BabcockCenter.org, to St. David’s Lutheran Church, or to a charity of one’s choice. Melinda’s sister Vicki would like to extend her gratitude and love to everyone who was a part of Melinda’s growth and happiness during her life.
