Michael W. Hancock

Michael W. Hancock, a loving, devoted, and hardworking husband, father, and “Pops”, passed away on November 16, 2025, at the age of 64. Born on July 30, 1961, he was a proud resident of Lexington, South Carolina.

Michael received his early education at Stonington Grade School and Yorkville High School in Illinois. He continued his academic journey at Northern Illinois University and later earned a degree from the University of Denver. He was employed with Ward Services of Columbia, where he was deeply respected for his commitment, integrity, and strong work ethic.

Michael shared 39 loving years with his soulmate, Donna Hancock. Together, they raised three children: Nicholas Hancock, Jaclyn Goodberlet, and Brandon Hancock. Michael was a proud and loving “Pops” to Carmen Hancock, Marley Hancock, Knox Goodberlet, and Isla Goodberlet.

He is survived by his wife, Donna; his children, Nicholas Hancock (Brittany), Jaclyn Goodberlet (Andrew), and Brandon Hancock; his grandchildren, Carmen, Marley, Knox, and Isla; and his siblings, Pat Hancock(Pam), Anita Eversole, and Steve Hancock (Scott Wallis). He was preceded in death by his parents, Mary Alice Hancock and Leslie Eugene Hancock, and by his brother-in-law, Dave Eversole.

A visitation will be held on November 20, 2025, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home – Lexington Chapel, located at 503 North Lake Drive, Lexington, SC 29072.

A Mass of Christian Burial will follow on November 21, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, 2350 Augusta Highway, Lexington, SC 29072. A celebratory reception following the mass will be held on Friday, November 21, 2025, from 12:00-3:00 p.m at The Chickawa Outdoor Center, 629 Chickawa Dr Lexington, SC 29072.

May his tenacity for life live on in those who loved and knew him. He will forever be remembered for the love and kindness he shared.
