
Funeral services for Michael W. Potter, 68, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 7, 2014 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service in the Chapel.
Mr. Potter was born on February 22, 1945 in Bremerton, Washington and went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, January 3, 2014. He was the son of Ruth Keisler and the late Darwin Keisler.
Mr. Potter was a man of great faith. He was the youngest boy in SC to earn his Eagle Scout, was a Green Beret in Special Forces and was a Captain in the National Guard where he served as Adjutant General McGrady’s Aid. Mr. Potter was a retired salesman in the mobile home industry. He enjoyed art and wood carving, fishing and hunting and enjoyed reading, especially the bible.
Mr. Potter is survived by his wife, Deborah Potter of West Columbia, SC; children, Whitney Potter of Lexington, SC, Angela Potter Lord (Frank) of Statesboro, GA, Hope Potter Aldridge (Walt) of Statesboro, GA and Todd Parrish of Statesboro, GA; grandchildren, Riley Lynn, Parrish and Porter Aldridge; mother of Gilbert, SC; brothers, Darwin Keisler, Jr. of Gilbert, SC, Dr. Mark S. Keisler of Gilbert, SC and Maxi Keisler of Charleston, SC; sisters, Stella Black of Columbia, SC and Linda Tapp of Columbia, SC.
