

Neil Britton Yarrington, 92, of Lexington, South Carolina passed away on Wednesday, October 29, 2025. He was born on December 5, 1932, in Gary, Indiana to the late Thomas and Marion Britton Yarrington.
Neil was a graduate of Glen Allen High School in 1950. He was a Veteran Army Paratrooper having served in the Korean War era based out of Fort Bragg, North Carolina. Neil was an avid Indy Sprint car fan. He built hundreds of model race cars and despite his health, spent most of his spare time doing so until shortly before his passing. Neil was a civil war buff, collecting extensive memorabilia. Neil was a lifetime Washington Redskins fan. He never once referred to them as the Commanders. Neil resided with his daughter, Martha Ann, and her family for the past six years. He had the joyful fulfillment of seeing up-close, his grandchildren become adults, along with his great grandchildren laughing, learning, and playing in their early months and years of life. Neil was a loving, loyal and kind son, brother, father, uncle, father-in-law, grandfather, great grandfather, friend, and neighbor. All who knew him loved him for his humor and jovial personality.
Neil is survived by his daughter, Martha Ann Nicholas; son-in-law, Stephen Wayne Nicholas Jr; grandchildren, Ronald Britton Wells, Sydney Faith Nicholas, and Stephen Drake Nicholas; great-grandchildren, Waylon Alexander Wells and Sophia Noelle Davis. He is survived by his five nieces, Margaret, Mary Lou, Laura, Linda, and Dawn, all who adored him. He had two incredible caregivers, Nikita and Vicky, the past few years that he loved like family.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Marian Davis Yarrington just eight months ago; stepson, David William Dunagan; brothers, Thomas, and Ray Yarrington along with each of their spouses; nephews, Thomas Yarrington Jr. and Donald Plante; niece, Robin Goffi Davis and Neil’s parents, Thomas and Marion Yarrington.
A Celebration of Life for Neil will be held at 2:00 p.m. on November 8, 2025, at The Nicholas Home 230 Leventis Lane Lexington, South Carolina 29072
