Nick was a 1978 graduate of Irmo High School and a graduate of the Columbia Police Academy. He also served in the Army and served 15 years in the Army National Guard. He also served with the Lexington County Police Department and Johnston Police Department for several years.
He is survived by his sons; Jeremy Van Put and wife (Tish) and children, and Jarrett Thomas Van Put; brothers, Julian Van Put and wife (Patricia) of Woodbury, New Jersey, Patrick Van Put and wife (Marla) and children of Letha Idaho; sister, Rhemie Gantz and husband (Michael) of Irmo, South Carolina; nephews, Shane Van Put and wife (Angela) and children of Statesboro, North Carolina, and Ryan Van Put and wife (Stephanie) of Arizona; nieces, Shantini Sega and children of Portland, Oregon, Lauren Bluxom and husband (Joel) and children of Utah, and Magin Van Put and husband (John) and children of Alaska.
Services will be held Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Caughman Harman Funeral Home – Lexington Chapel.
