Patricia Sharpton Mills

COLUMBIA - Patricia "Pat" Sharpton Mills, of Columbia, age 77, passed away on Monday, January 29th in Columbia, South Carolina. She was born on February 12, 1940 in McCormick, South Carolina to George Leonard and Elsie Durham Sharpton. Pat graduated from McCormick High School in 1958 and Anderson College in 1960. She worked for the South Carolina State government in Parks, Recreation and Tourism. She also worked at the South Carolina State Archives. Pat was a member of Christ the King Lutheran Church in Columbia.

Surviving is, her husband, E. Cecil Mills Jr; daughters, Kimberly Mills of Arlington, Virginia and Paige Mills of Columbia, South Carolina; her brother, George "Bill" William Sharpton and Bill’s companion, Marian Hayes of Greenville, South Carolina, and her sister-in-law, Doris Jacobs (Bill) of Moore, South Carolina. She was preceded in death by her parents.

Pat’s family will greet friends at a visitation at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel on Thursday, February 8, 2018 from 2pm-4pm. A private interment will be held at a later date.
