Allan graduated from Brookland-Cayce High School in 1973. He was employed with Owens Steel for over 25 years.
He is predeceased by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. William A. Smith, Sr. (Bill and Nita), also of West Columbia.
He is survived by his children, Brent Allan Smith and Brooke Ashley Edwards (James) of Lexington; brother, William (Bill) Smith, Jr. (Edith Jo) of Camden; and sister, K. Jill Smith of West Columbia.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Allan at a later date.
