He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Miano Behrends; daughter, Juliette Isabella; mother, Jacqueline Ray of Greensboro, North Carolina; sister, Heidi, of Raleigh, North Carolina; and extended family. He was preceded in death by his loving father, Dick Behrends, from whom he inherited his visionary spirit and creative genius.
Huck found his niche at the SC State Museum where his passion and innovation allowed him to design and produce numerous exhibitions as the Director of Exhibits and Facilities. He shared his lifelong passion for adventure, mentoring daughter, Juliette, in biking, snow skiing, skateboarding, water skiing and surfing. He pursued excellence in every endeavor, was genuine in spirit and forever positive.
Private memorial services will be held at a later date in Columbia, South Carolina and Greensboro, North Carolina.
