LEXINGTON – Richard Douglas Hawkins, 61, was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He leaves behind his loving wife of 35 years, Kathy Hawkins, and children, Amie Nelson (Shea), Marsa King (Mike) and Joshua Spears. His grandchildren include Aaron Spears, Rylee King, Colin Nelson, Hayley Spears, Ashton King and Kaden Nelson.
It is impossible to memorialize this man in an article. The only things that can be said are that he loved his family, and he loved to laugh. He has always been a caretaker of many. No shoes, no shirt, no problem because he never judged. In his life he brought hope, love and joy to many. He gave a gift of life to all people who knew him, and he will be missed. In this world you only meet a few people like Rick, and we are all blessed to have known him. We hope that everyone enjoys their life and family as much as he did his.
