Richard retired from Bellsouth as a lineman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and umpiring baseball. He also enjoyed FSU football. GO NOLES!
He is survived by his wife, Deborah Stephenson Holderness of Pelion; daughter, Jennifer Allmoslochner of Pelion; son, Brian Holderness (Jennifer) of Leesville; grandchildren, Dominick Holderness (Meagan), Kaden Allmoslochner, Kaylee Allmoslochner, Bryson Holderness, Nathan Holderness, Savannah Holderness, Dalton Moody and Easton A. Holderness; and his brother, Bear Sawkins.
A funeral service will be held for Richard at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 14th, 2023 at South Congaree Baptist Church, 101 Pine Ridge Drive, West Columbia, SC 29172, with a visitation to follow. The family requests those in attendance to wear their favorite sports team clothing.
