Richard Lynn Isaacson

COLUMBIA - Dick Isaacson passed away Sunday, November 19, 2017 at home in Columbia, SC. He was born July 26, 1949 to Robert “Ike” Isaacson Sr., and the late, Barbara (Ennis) Isaacson. He is survived by his wife and companion of over 30 years, Carol Miller Isaacson. He was a dedicated and loving father to Richard (Shannon) Isaacson Jr., Veronica (Brian) McMahon, and Spencer (Mary) Miller, and the cherished grandfather of Jack, Will, Aliza, Bailey, Camryn, Noah, Logan, and Clay.

Dick is also survived by four brothers, Robert (Judy) Isaacson Jr., Barry Isaacson, Garry (Patricia) Isaacson, and Randy (Lynn) Isaacson and many nieces and nephews.He was born and raised in Ypsilanti, Michigan, and graduated from Ypsilanti High School in 1967. He also attended Eastern Michigan University. He was a proud member of the UAW, and worked for over 30 years at the Ypsilanti Ford Plant, retiring to South Carolina in 2002. Dick was selfless, humble, and regularly made sacrifices to help others, none more than his own children. Over the past 32 years he was a friend of Bill W., and helped an unknown number of people overcome the obstacles in their lives. His wisdom and kindness will be missed.

A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held in South Carolina at a later date. Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
