Robert was born in Sumter at Toumey Hospital. He graduated from Airport High School. He was an Eagle Scout, Order of the Arrow, and Earned Vigil. Robert served his country for two years in the Vietnam War in 1968 and 1969. After returning from war, he graduated from USC with a Bachelor’s in Accounting. Robert then built and owned US Systems, a commercial printing and filing systems company in Lexington, SC, for 40 years.
Robert loved all major college sports, and was a scholarship donor for 30+ years to the Gamecocks. Robert was a genuinely loyal friend to many. He was always excitedly waiting to greet you and finding a way to make you laugh. Robert loved to fish. He loved the ocean. He loved surrounding himself with his friends doing what he loved and who he loved. Robert dearly loved and adored his wife, Jacki. His proudest accomplishment in life, I believe, was the two of them.
Robert is preceded in death by his parents, Cecil W Davis, Sr. and Dorothy Munn Davis. Robert leaves behind his loving wife, Jacqueline Rayman Davis; brother, Cecil W. Davis, Jr. (Peggy) and sister, Katrina Golden.
Robert’s wishes were to be cremated and returned home to the coast. Services will be announced at a later date by Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel.
