Bob grew up in Crestwood, NY and attended Iona College, graduating in 1959. He would join The U.S. Marine Corps before beginning a 20 year career with the FBI. Bob also spent three years with the South Carolina Law Enforcement Division (S.L.E.D.) and would finish his career with 15 years at the South Carolina Medical Examiner's Office.
Bob was predeceased in death by his brother, Raymond J. Geiger. He is survived by his wife, Paulette Geiger, and her children Kim Freeman and Toby J. Freeman. Bob is also survived by three sons and a daughter: Robert J. Geiger (Kaye), William F. Geiger (Antonia), James D. Geiger (Kim), and Catherine G. Nelson (Hal); his grandchildren: Blair Warrin (Mark), Daniel Geiger, Andrew Geiger, Abigail Nelson, Avery Nelson, Gabriel Geiger, and Allegra Geiger; as well as his great-grandson Callum Warrin and great-granddaughter Raquel Geiger. Bob is also survived by his brother, Richard F. Geiger (Helge).
A memorial service will be held Wednesday, September 10, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home-Lexington Chapel, 503 North Lake Drive, Lexington, SC.
In lieu of flowers, Bob requested donations be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
