Ruth M. Truesdale

Ruth M. Truesdale, 96, of Lexington, South Carolina was called home to be with the Lord on June 25, 2025. Ruth was born on November 25, 1928 in Minnesota to the late Robert and Ingrid Mizell. She was a devoted servant of God, a loving daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, and cherished friend.

She dedicated her life to living by faith, walking in love, and serving others. She attended Lighthouse Baptist and Red bank Baptist Churches. Throughout her life Ruth exemplified the teachings of Christ through kindness, humility, and unwavering faith. She found joy in prayer, worship, and encouraging those around her to trust in God’s promises.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. James O. Truesdale, Sr.; her sister, Harriet Mizell (Duck); granddaughter, Erica Gregory; brother-in-law, LB Williamson; sons-in-law, Charles Patterson and Jim Russell; and daughter-in-law, Iris Snead.

She is survived by her sisters, Roberta Hinson (JC) and Peggy Williamson; her children, Roger Keith Snead, Eric Kent Truesdale (Kim), Robin Russell, and James O. Truesdale, Jr. (Jennifer). She was blessed with her grandchildren, Jason Snead (Casey), Matthew Snead, Tanya Bryant (Todd), Justin Patterson (Amanda), Jenny Adcock (Russ), Kristin Johns (Daniel), Kalyn Marlowe (Jakob);18 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Ruth, who was also known lovingly as Mrs. T, will be missed by all who knew her.

Her family would like to give a special thanks to her caregivers, Elvery McDonald and Raymond Herring. They treated her with the upmost love and respect and made her final days as comfortable as possible.

The family will receive visitors on Sunday, June 29, 2025 from 3:00 - 5:00 pm at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home - Lexington Chapel, 503 North Lake Drive, Lexington, SC 29072. Her celebration of life will be held at 11:00 am on June 30, 2025 at Red Bank Baptist Church, 1357 South Lake Drive, Lexington, South Carolina 29073.
