

LEXINGTON – Sarah Grayson Killian, 89, passed away at her Oakleaf Village residence in Lexington on Monday, February 6, 2012. Born in Filbert, SC on January 24, 1923, she was the daughter of the late John Roy and Annie Little Grayson.
After graduating from high school in York County, Mrs. Killian attended Appalachian State Teachers College, Boone, NC. She was known as an accomplished pianist and organist, a prize winning baker, and a very capable seamstress. She served as a Cub Scout den mother. Her professional career as secretary and stenographer spanned a period from 1942 to 1988, in Charleston, SC, Charlotte, NC and Orlando, FL where she retired from the State of Florida, Dept. of Commerce, Bureau of Apprenticeship.
She was married to the late Frank Edward Killian and is survived by two sons, Frank Edward Killian, Jr. and his wife, Gayle of Lexington, SC and Patrick Owen Killian and his wife, Stefani Scott of Stony Brook, NY and a sister, Mary G. Fisher of Orlando, FL. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Tara Killian Fitzgerald and her husband, Blaise of Burbank, CA, Andrew Sutton Killian and his wife, Erika of Lorton, VA, Benjamin Scott-Killian of Vashon, WA, and Tobias Scott-Killian of Stony Brook, NY and by four great-grandchildren.
A Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 19, 2012 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel.
