Sue Cleckler

LEXINGTON - A memorial service for Sue S. Cleckler, 95, formerly of West Columbia, will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 8, 2014 at Brookland United Methodist Church, officiated by Rev. Wayne Smith with visitation following the service.

Mrs. Cleckler passed away on Friday, September 5, 2014. She was born in Crossville, Tennessee. She was the daughter of the late, James and Laura Lemert Smith. She was a long time member of Brookland United Methodist Church. She graduated from West Georgia College in 1938 and taught school for several years. She then graduated from Columbia College in 1961 and worked as a Librarian at BC Junior High and then Busbee Middle School, retiring in 1973.

She is predeceased by her husband, of 64 years, George L. Cleckler and son, James S. Cleckler.

Surviving are her son, Mike Cleckler (Linda) of West Columbia; daughter, Susan Stilwell (Bill) of Lexington; daughter-in-law, Lynn Cleckler of Lexington; grandchildren, Ken Cleckler, Rod and Kori Cleckler, Todd Stilwell, Wes and Marti Stilwell, Suzanne and Andy Klenck; great-grandchildren, Cole, Ella, Samantha and Liam Stilwell, Erin Cleckler and Finn Klenick.

The family would like to thank the staff at LMC, Carroll Campbell Place for the care they gave Mrs. Cleckler.
