Summer will be remembered with deep respect and lasting affection for the compassion she showed so naturally and the steady determination she brought to the responsibilities of everyday life. She carried herself with thoughtfulness and loyalty, offering care in quiet, meaningful ways, and leaving those around her feeling seen and supported. Even in serious moments, Summer’s sense of humor could bring lightness and relief, a gentle reminder of her ability to lift hearts while remaining grounded and sincere. In the lives she touched, she was a source of encouragement—an inspiring presence whose example will not be forgotten.
She found joy in simple, beautiful pleasures: time on the water, especially on cruises, and the confidence and creativity she expressed through doing her hair and makeup. These interests reflected her appreciation for both calm horizons and personal artistry—moments that made her feel most beautiful and bright.
Summer is survived by her beloved husband, Joseph Tedder; her father, Nelson Dowdey and step-mother: Sandra ; her sister, Savannah Dowdey; and her close friend, Karen Dixon.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, June 12, 2026 at 3:00 at Independent Fellowship of the Living Word, 3595 Hwy 6, Lexington, SC 29073, officiated by very close friend; Brandon Jones.
