Born in Lexington, South Carolina, May 11, 1929, Mrs. Dyches was the daughter of the late Daniel Wesley and Vera Backman. She was predeceased by husband, Junior Brodie Price of 39 years and Benjamin Franklin Dyches of 18 years. Mrs. Dyches is also predeceased by sisters, Ruth A. Gunter, Pearl Gunter, Nettie Gunter, Bell Gunter, Irene Miller Sullivan, Juanita Marcum, Myrtle Miller and by brothers, Charles Backman, Clyde Backman and Delmas Backman.
Mrs. Dyches was a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church. She loved her family and friends deeply and was a devoted aunt, sister and wife.
She is survived by sister, Vonita McFarland; brother, Frank Backman and many nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews. A special thank you to nephews Eddie Marcum and Gary Derrick for their constant attention and care of Aunt Thelma during the later years of her life.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, February 6, 2022 at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church cemetery, 246 St. Pauls Church Road, Gilbert, SC 29054.
