Tom lived a life of zest and accomplishment. Tom and Valerie started and grew a successful and substantial automotive supply business in Michigan, Engineering Tube Specialties. He traveled extensively, piloted private aircraft, rode horses, enjoyed boating, played golf and organized golfing expeditions with his golfing buddies, and built homes in Michigan, South Carolina and Costa Rica. Outgoing and friendly, during his life he created a wide circle of friends and associates. While his life quieted in his later years, he never lost his enjoyment of living.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Valerie Oldenburg; his parents, L. Clarke and Jean Oldenburg, and his brothers, Robert and Richard Oldenburg, Tom is survived by his daughter, Machion (Todd) Morris; his sons, Allan (Renee), Daniel and Edgar (Ed) Oldenburg; his brother and sister, John Oldenburg and Mary Oldenburg Shereda; eight grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
