Tim lived with a steady devotion to the people he loved and the responsibilities he carried. Through years defined by hard work and quiet perseverance, he earned his GED and went on to build a life marked by service, loyalty, and a generosity of spirit that was felt wherever he went.
He served in the US Navy, a chapter of his life that reflected his sense of duty and willingness to put others before himself. Tim was employed by Lowe’s Home Improvement for over 20 years, where his strong work ethic and readiness to lend a hand were part of who he was each day—reliable, selfless, and consistently the first one to offer help.
Above all else, Tim’s greatest love in life was his two sons, Austin and Jack. He loved his friends and family fiercely, and in the way he welcomed others—with warmth, openness, and the ease of someone who never met a stranger—he became truly beloved and adored by all who knew him.
Tim is survived by his sons, Austin Coursey and Jack Coursey; his siblings, Clinta Carmichael, Scott Coursey, and Mark Coursey; and his nieces and nephews, Hannah (Justin) Steadman, Thomas Carmichael, Jack (Sarah) Coursey, David Coursey, Macee Coursey, CJ (Haley) Coursey, Haleigh Coursey, and Travis Smith, as well as several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by Clint Coursey, Tara Smith and Jordan Smith, and by his parents, Jack and Sharon Coursey.
An avid South Carolina Gamecock and Dallas Cowboys fan, Tim also loved hunting and fishing—simple joys that suited his grounded nature and appreciation for time spent outdoors and in good company.
