Timothy Wayne Thigpen

LEXINGTON – A Service of Remembrance for Timothy Wayne Thigpen, 66, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 27, 2012 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel conducted by the Rev. Alvin Bozard.

Mr. Thigpen was born April 24, 1946 in Columbia, SC and passed away on Tuesday, September 25, 2012. He was a son of the late Clinton M. Thigpen and Christine Timms Thigpen. Tim was a retired Delta Airlines employee with over thirty years of service. He served his country in the United States Navy.

Mr. Thigpen is survived by his daughter, Tara Ashley Thigpen of Charlotte, NC; sisters, Judy Derrick (Mervyn) of Irmo, SC, Margaret Normandy (Mike) of Savannah, GA and brother, Tom Thigpen of Charlotte, NC. Also surviving are a nephew, Scott Derrick (Deborah) of Greenville, SC, a niece, Lacie Normandy of Jacksonville, FL; great-niece, Gracie Derrick of Greenville, SC; special aunt and uncle, Maude and Fred Dickson of Pickens, SC; cousins and many special friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 500 Taylor Street, Suite 101, Columbia, SC, 29201 or a charity of one’s choice.
