Tommie Haynes Taylor

Tommie is survived by her loving family including her daughters, Peggy Ann Adcox (Tad) and Charlene Timmie (Jim); her stepdaughters, Tami Matthews (David) and Tonya McLaughlin (Jamie); brother, Lawrence Haynes (Theada); sister, Debbie Stanley; along with 9 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and Missy Cat. In addition to her husband Charles, she was preceded in death by her son, Butch.

Tommie had an enjoyable career as a professional hairstylist and in her profession, she spread her knowledge with others as a teacher. She was a product sales representative and owned several hair salons including ones in retirement centers.

A return to SC from GA was important to Tommie. She began her life here and being back in her home state to be near her sister, brother, and cousins was comforting to her.

Reading was one of Tommie’s favorite pastimes, and she frequently visited the library. She loved the beach and always had a longing to head there any chance she could. She was a member of Lexington United Methodist Church and attended bible studies there. When she moved into Deepwood Retirement Center she enjoyed making many new friends.

Most of all, Tommie loved her family and spending any time she could with them.

A memorial service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, October 3rd, 2026 at Lexington United Methodist Church, 309 E Main Street, Lexington, SC 29072.
