

Mr. Coker passed away August 13, 2024 after a short and courageous battle with cancer. Born September 1, 1966 in Columbia, SC, he was the son of the late Robert and Judy Coker. He was a graduate of the class of 1984 at Brookland Cayce High School and earned a degree in interdisciplinary studies from The University of South Carolina in 2008. He was a lifelong resident of the Columbia and Lexington area where he and his wife Kathy raised 2 children. An active member of Newspring Church, Tray was a true community builder where he and Kathy led a young adults small group for young couples. He loved his Carolina Gamecocks, Atlanta Braves, swimming in his pool, and spoiling his grandson.
Surviving are his wife of 34 years, Kathy Coker of Lexington; son, Bobby Coker (Mary Katheryn), Lexington; daughter, Maggie Coker, Columbia; grandson, Robert “Rory” Coker; sister, Karen Pizzuti (Nick), Lexington; numerous nieces and nephews, and numerous great-nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Clinton Coker; mother, Judy Gladden Coker; and brother, Robert Gary Coker.
The family would like to express their grateful appreciation to Dr. Sarah Mushtaq and her team at South Carolina Oncology Associates and the doctors, nurses, and team at MUSC Health Columbia.
In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to the American Cancer Society.
