Virginia Raye Richard

She is preceded in death by her parents; sister, C. Kaye Harris; and son, Neil C. Hanger (Donna).

Raye is survived by her sister, Emily Liles; sons, Malcolm K. Hanger (Helen) and his 2 children and 4 grandchildren, R. Lee Hanger (Sharon) and his 2 children and 2 grandchildren; and daughter, E. Darlene Weil (Larry) and her 3 children and 3 grandchildren.

Raye’s children would like to say thank you for the friendships over the years of her girlfriends from Lexington State Bank especially Cindy Leaphart, Robin Sires and Beth Dailey, as well as the facilities that cared for her over the years, most recently Generations of Batesburg.

Most importantly we cannot thank or say enough about All Seasons Medical - Dr. McCloy, Heather McCloy and Hospice staff – Gary, Steve, Stephanie and Pastor Chris Murray and all the others. McLeod Home Care team and to the girls that were there for us around the clock since last week with empathy and caring heart. This team works like an extension of your family and communicates with you and each other with compassion.

A service will take place on Wednesday, June 7, 2023 at 12:00 P.M. at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service at 11:00 A.M. A burial will follow service at Elmwood Cemetery, 501 Elmwood Avenue, Columbia, SC.
