

LEXINGTON - William “Bill” John Black went home to be with Jesus on Tuesday, February 7, 2012. Bill was born September 19, 1969 in Rockville Center, Long Island. He was a graduate of Airport High School and Suffolk Community College. He was an employee of Hardaway Concrete/Aggregate Industries for 18 years.
Bill rode his Harley with his special Uncle Dave Black and the Blue Knights Law Enforcement motorcycle club on their charity rides. He was an active member of Crossroads World Outreach Center in West Columbia and also a member and past-president of the Cayce-West Columbia Civitan Club. Bill and his wife, Dawn, shared a love for life that included beach music, boating, riding their Harley and spending time with friends, especially Dolton and Nova Norman.
Bill will be greatly missed by his beloved wife, Dawn S. Cole-Black. He also leaves to mourn, his daughter, Megan Pearl Black of Gaston; his mother, Carol Ann Dunigan (William) of Gaston; sisters, Linda Doreen Clegg (John) of Savannah, GA and Kathryn Elizabeth Mitchell of Gaston; brother, Edward Richard Black of Fort Carson, CO; nieces and nephews, Taylor, Mackensie, Brayden, Robert, Alexis and Jacob. He was predeceased by his father, Robert Black.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of William “Bill” Black will be held at Crossroads World Outreach Center on Friday, February 10 at 2:00 p.m. Pastor Tim Hodge and Pastor Kenneth Blease will officiate. The family will receive friends at the church at 12:30 p.m. on Friday, before the celebration service. Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
