

William is survived by his daughters, Laurie Burriss Fulmer and Lynn Burriss Spivey; former wife and best friend, Jacque Epps Burriss; grandchildren, Karlynn Mackenzie Fulmer, Harrison Craig Fulmer and Lauren Brooklynn Spivey.
He was predeceased by infant son, William Mack Burriss, Jr.; spouse, Randy Flowers Burriss; parents, William Thomas Burriss and Sybil Lyles Burriss; brothers, Donald Thomas Burriss and MiIlford Deal Burriss.
William was a 1959 graduate of Brookland-Cayce High School and attended the University of South Carolina. He retired as an Electrical Contractor/owner of Carolina Electrical Company, Inc.
Billy was loved by everyone he met and was the life of the party, known for his wonderful sense of humor. He was a very successful businessman as an electrical contractor and had his general contractor’s license.
As a teenager, he was very involved in the Boy Scouts of America and was in The Order of the Arrow (OA) which is the honor society of the Boy Scouts of America, composed of Scouts and Scouters who best exemplify the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives as elected by their peers.
Billy was a Sergeant 1st Class in the US Army.
He was very proud of having saved 9 people from drowning during his lifetime, due to his excellent swimming and boating skills. He enjoyed water skiing, snow skiing, scuba diving and golf. He hit a hole in one at Lexington Country Club and set many records for basketball and track and field at Brookland-Cayce High School.
He was elected vice president of the freshman student body at USC and was voted "best looking" in his senior class at Brookland-Cayce High School.
He also enjoyed attending church at Pisgah Lutheran Church.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 13, 2022 at Pisgah Lutheran Church and the family will receive friends after the service.
