LEXINGTON –Funeral services for William Elvin Chavis, 73, of Lexington, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Boiling Springs United Methodist Church with interment at Woodridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 7pm to 9pm on Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel. Elvin passed on to join his best friend and love of his life, Norma, on Saturday, September 3, 2016. He was born in Columbia, SC on January 21, 1943 to the late, William Edison Chavis and Mary Sue Kyzer Chavis. He was a member of the Boiling Springs United Methodist Church. Elvin loved his church, family, fishing and his dog, Penny. He loved spending time with his grandchildren and did anything to put a smile on your face. He worked for Miller Tire Service and retired from Michelin.
Elvin is survived by, his daughters, Angie Windham (Todd), Rebecca Ann Leonard (Doug), Jennifer Fleming; grandchildren, Alicia Smith, Amanda Keith (David), Ashley Rose (Dom), Cody Windham, Jessica Lindler (Josh), Randi Roland, Taylor Fleming; great-grandchildren, Allysen, Adalyn and Konrad Lindler, Zeke and Caleb Smith; brothers, Buster Lee Chavis (Vicki) and Ronald Wesley Chavis. He is predeceased by his wife, Norma Jean Self Chavis; sister, Barbara Ard and brother William Carlos Chavis.
