William Lawson

West Columbia - Funeral services for William Donald Lawson, 81, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, 2012 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel with interment in Lexington Memorial Cemetery with full military honors. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 West Faris Road, Greenville, SC 29605-4277.

Mr. Lawson was born May 22, 1930 in High Point, NC and passed away on Monday, April 23, 2012. He was the son of the late William Clarence Lawson and Myrtle Russell Lawson. Mr. Lawson retired from the United States Navy after twenty years of service. He was a member of the Shandon Masonic Lodge, Jamil Temple and worked at Richland County Sheriff's Department.

Mr. Lawson is survived by his wife of 58 years, Claire Marsteller Lawson; daughters, Barbara Rish (Steve), Debbie Kingsbury (Dan), Laura Lown (Donald), Cindy Taulbert (Mike) and Lilli Sox (Jack); sister-in-law, Rosie McCollum; brother-in-law, John Marsteller; 17 grandchildren and 13 great- grandchildren.
