LEXINGTON – A graveside service for William Harold Michaelis, 102, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 22, 2013 in Mount Comfort Cemetery in Alexandria, VA. The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, June 20, 2013 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel.
Mr. Michaelis was born November 1, 1910 in LeRoy, NY and passed away on Tuesday, June 18, 2013. He was a son of the late Walter Michaelis and Ethel Laird Michaelis. Formerly of Alexandria, VA, Mr. Michaelis served his country in the United States Army. He was employed with the US Department of Agriculture in Washington, DC for over 40 years.
Surviving are 11 nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 55 years, Louise Timmons Michaelis.
