William B. Penn

IRMO – A memorial service for William Bruce Penn, 70, will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Friday, March 17, 2017 at Caughman-Harman Funeral Home, Lexington Chapel, with Rev. Bobby Jackson officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the chapel. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society, 128 Stonemark Lane, Columbia, SC 29210 or SC Southern Baptist Disaster Relief, North American Mission Board, SBC, 4200 North Point Parkway, Alpharetta, GA 30022-4176.

Mr. Penn was born July 31, 1946 in Birmingham, AL and passed away on Tuesday, March 14, 2017. He was a son of the late William F. Penn and Sybil Marie Martin Penn. He received a BA degree from Auburn University. Mr. Penn was a member of Riverland Hills Baptist Church, where he taught Sunday school, and was also an avid reader.

He is survived by a son, Matthew Penn of Irmo; brother, Keith Penn (Gina) of AL; niece, Jamie; nephew, Corey; great-niece, Darcy, and cousins and aunts. He was predeceased by his wife, Laney Penn.
