Cecil E. Adams Sr.

Cecil E. Adams Sr., 86, of West College Corner died on Sunday, October 27, 2013, at his residence.
Cecil was born November 5, 1926, in New Garden Township in Wayne County Indiana to Robert L. and Maggie French Adams. He attended Richmond High School. Cecil joined U.S. Army to serve his country. He served with the 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, the 82nd Airborne Division. While overseas Cecil attended the 11th Airborne Parachute School and Parachute Jump Training in Sendai, Japan. He was employed for a number of years in management at Belden Wire Company.
In earlier years, Cecil participated in fast pitch baseball on the Belden Team in the industrial league. With his fast pitch talent, he helped them win several championships. In his later years he enjoyed Bingo.
Cecil is survived by four sons and their spouses: Cecil E. Adams Jr. and Deborah of Richmond, Rick L. Adams of Richmond, Jason T. Adams and Leangela of West College Corner, and Robert A. Adams and Kelly of Dresden, OH; a daughter: Leslie Amyx and Brad of Hiram, GA; fifteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Cecil was preceded in death by his parents and five brothers: Earl, Herschel, Pete, Charlie, and Thomas Adams.
