David Woeste

David Luke Woeste, 65, of Liberty died July 13, 2018.
David was born March 4, 1953 in Muncie, Indiana to Luke B. and Marcella Maxwell Woeste and graduated from Short High School in 1971. He married the former, Debbie Walton on January 18, 1974 at Edwards Memorial United Methodist Church. David was employed by the City of Liberty for thirty-five years, operating the wastewater treatment plant. He retired as Superintendent in 2008. He formerly served as the township trustee and currently held office as the Union County Commissioner. David spent his leisure time hunting, fishing, trapping and especially utilizing his green thumb in the garden.
David is survived by his wife, Debbie Walton Woeste; his sons and daughters-in-law: Lucas M. Woeste and Kim; Sam Woeste and Sarai; David Clinton Woeste; his grandchildren: Brady, Easton, Noah and Emily Woeste, all of Liberty; several nieces and nephews.
David is preceded in death by his grandparents: Ferdinand and Florentine Woeste, his parents: Luke B. and Marcella Maxwell Woeste; his father-in-law and mother in-law: James Park and G. Marie Stewart Walton; his sister: Judith Chapman.
Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at Edwards Memorial United Methodist Church, 4 W. Seminary St, Liberty, with Pastor Scott Bell, officiating. Burial will follow in West Point Cemetery. Friends may visit at the church Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the time of service where memorial contributions may be made to the Union County Foundation ion.
