Dorothy Snyder White

Dorothy Snyder White, 93, of Liberty died Saturday, May 6, 2017, at her residence.
Dorothy was born in Clifton, to Earl L. and Ethel Miles Snyder on June 5, 1923. She graduated from Short High School in 1941 and married Robert J. White on December 8, 1943 in Liberty. They enjoyed 60 years of marriage before Robert died on November 20, 2003. Dorothy was employed as secretary and bookkeeper at Liberty Mill; Miami University, Whitewater State Park Office, and Fayette Union County REMC. Dorothy retired from REMC in February 1988 following fifteen years of service. Dorothy always said she never had to look for a job, because they always came to her. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Liberty.
Dorothy is survived by nieces and nephews and their spouses: Donald Handley and Donna of Liberty; Neil Handley of Indianapolis; Rondal Snyder and Jean of Liberty; Karen Puely of Richmond; Larry Williams of Fort Wayne; Susan Snyder Jones and Norman of Colorado, Sallee Roach and Charles of Fishers; Ted Williams and Joanne of Brownsburg; William H. Snyder of California, Dale Pentecost of Greensfork; Neal Bulla and Pam of Kentucky; and David Pentecost of Tennessee. In addition to her parents and her husband, Dorothy was preceded in death by two brothers: Maurice and Ralph Snyder; and two sisters: Jeannette Handley and Okabelle Williams.
A public graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 13, 2017 at West Point Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church in Liberty.
